The Crucible

In the fall of 2014, I directed Arthur Miller's The Crucible. A parable of our contemporary society, the play is as relevant today as when it was originally written in 1953. Though set in 1692 Salem, it is a direct rebuke of the Communist witch-hunts executed by the House Un-American Activities Committee in the 1950s. To ensure this production resonated with its audience, I decided to transition the time period from 1692 in the first act to the 1953 of HUAC in the second act. The Laramie Project Cycle

In the spring of 2014, I directed The Laramie Project Cycle, which included both The Laramie Project and The Larame Project: Ten Years Later. My goal with this production was to promote acceptance and advocacy in the central Ohio community. The Laramie Project Cycle was profiled in both Ohio Schools and Outlook Columbus.

As You Like It

In the spring of 2013, I directed William Shakespeare's delightful comedy As You Like It. To engage and excite a contemporary audience, I decided to modernize the world of the production. Drawing inspiration from current dystopic young adult fiction, the court of Duke Frederick became cold, dark, and "envious", a place where deceit and subterfuge are commonplace and technology is omnipresent. Starkly contrasting with the court, the Forest of Arden is an inspiration, a place where everyone is treated equally and the fauna and foliage become salves for the soul.
